In development. Kemet Travel has not launched yet. Eria Brands' founder is a minority co-owner of the business, so this is a partnership rather than a typical client project.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Kemet Travel is a tourism marketplace starting in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. It began as an idea: a better way for visitors to find and book trusted local experiences and services, and for local businesses to reach them. Eria Brands has been building it from scratch alongside the founder, covering the business plan, the product, the financial and payment design, the legal groundwork and the platform itself. Eria's founder is a minority co-owner of the business. Kemet has not launched yet, so this page describes work in progress.

THE CHALLENGE

What Needed To Change.

Visitors to a popular destination often worry about scams and surprise prices, and good local businesses struggle to reach them with credibility. Solving that takes more than a website. The business needs rules that everyone can trust: how businesses are approved, how prices are shown, how money moves, and what happens when a booking changes. The challenge was to turn an idea into a business that can operate safely from its first booking, and to build things in the right order.

THE STRATEGY

How We Approached It.

  • Plan before code: the business, the sitemap, the user flows, the data model, the API design and a phased roadmap were documented before the platform was built.
  • Make trust a product rule: the product is designed around one promise, pay what you see. The price a visitor sees is the price they pay.
  • One onboarding flow for every type of business: registration, document checks, admin review, agreement acceptance, profile setup, then going live, so every business is treated the same way.
  • Design for growth: category-specific information is stored flexibly, so new kinds of services can be added without rebuilding the platform.
  • Payment flows that fit each kind of service, instead of one rigid checkout for everything.
  • Two languages from the start: partner-facing materials in English and Arabic.
  • Do the non-code work early: financial planning, payment design, legal groundwork and partner terms are prepared alongside the build, not after it.

BRANDING

The Brand.

The identity is built around a K monogram with a pharaoh profile, a setting sun and waves, on a deep teal ground. The palette pairs Deep Teal and Turquoise with Sand Gold and Sunset Orange. The tagline is "Discover Egypt. Experience timeless beauty." The product interface sets headings in Cormorant Garamond and body text in DM Sans.

SYSTEMS

What Was Built.

  • Accounts and secure sign-in.
  • A booking flow with defined states, so every booking has a clear status.
  • Notifications at the key moments of a booking.
  • Front-end pages for visitors and businesses.
  • Built with TypeScript: Next.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL and Prisma.

IN DEVELOPMENT

Still Being Built.

  • Completing the platform and testing it with real partner businesses before launch.
  • A launch story video in English and Arabic.
  • Launch marketing and sales: finding the first businesses and visitors.

EXPECTED IMPACT

Kemet Travel has not launched, so there are no results to report yet. The goal is a marketplace where visitors can book with confidence and local businesses get a fair, simple way to reach them. We will update this case study with real results after launch.
